Event overview

Alder Hey Fresh CAMHS will help you to take a fresh look at your skills in understanding and identifying low mood or depression in children and young people. This half-day training will give you a framework for understanding the theoretical background to what depression is, how it presents itself at different ages, how it is maintained and how maintenance cycles can be broken. This training provides time to critically reflect on your own professional practice through group exercises, discussing case examples and through discussion with other delegates. We take a considered approach in how we respond and support children and young people with low mood and depression and discuss together when it would be appropriate to refer to Fresh CAMHS or other local agencies. The session will be interactive and will create a space to connect with other professionals. No prior knowledge of the area is expected.
