What do you do?

Place2Be provides emotional and therapeutic services in primary and secondary schools, building children’s resilience through counselling, creative work and play. Place2Be works with 257 primary and secondary schools, reaching a school population of 105,000 children, helping them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma. We offer 20 years experience of providing a sustainable, integrated service at the heart of the school community.

No, we work nationally.

Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm

Do you have appointments outside working hours?

School hours and school based.


Do you have drop-in facilities?

Yes Place2Talk for children in the school we are based in.


Where do you see young people?

Place2Be have a dedicated therapy room in each of their school projects. children and young people are seen in school.


Do you take referrals directly from children/young people, parents/carers?

No.

All referrals come through school.

What kinds of things do you help with?

Place2Be seeks to improve the prospects of children aged 4-14 years by tackling the complex social and emotional issues that often lie behind the challenging behaviours and educational underperformance.


What do you offer?

Place2Be offers a flexible menu of services, tailored to meet schools’ needs. We work with children in primary and secondary schools, and offer children & young people support to cope with emotional and behavioural difficulties our work has a positive impact on the whole class, and helps teachers focus on teaching. We also offer support for school staff and parents.

For 1-1 work a full assessment is carried out.

Place2Be has a full complaints policy and procedures in place.


What skills do your staff have?

The Place2Be team are leaders in the field of children’s mental health and well-being and have a wealth of experience in counselling, education, child psychiatry and psychology.


Do you offer training in your specialist area?

Place2Be provides expert training on mental health and wellbeing for teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build “mentally healthy” schools and communities where all children can thrive and grow up with prospects not problems.
