Who the course is for: this course is for new staff in existing MVP schools or new schools taking part in the Mentors in Violence Prevention Programme for 2026-2027.
About this course: Delivered by the MYA RAISE Team, this full day training will equip you to support the delivery of the Mentors in Violence Prevention Programme for the academic year 2026-2027.
Session content:
- The commitments and expectations of your school,
- The timeline of MVP activities for the academic year,
- Background, theory and model of MVP including the 5 Core Components and key activities,
- Information regarding your school supporting the Serious Violence Duty including VAWG, Knife Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour,
- Survey and Evaluation information and guidance,
- Expectations and recruitment of Mentors,
- Best practice sharing from previous schools, and
- Implementation time and initial action planning with your MYA Lead.
Time length: full day, 9.30am-4pm.
Delivery method: face-to-face at Merseyside Youth Association, Hanover Street, L1 3DY.
Light refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
