Liverpool NOW Festival 2021

Merseyside Youth Association, the organisers of the Liverpool NOW Festival 2021, which was broadcast live on YouTube have hailed its first digital version a huge success.

Over two nights, thousands of people: families, professionals and schools tuned in to watch a combination of groups from primary, secondary and special schools and youth organisations perform their pieces.

Speaking about the festival, a member of staff from St Julie’s said: “A big big thank you for everything you do to help support schools and young people. Tonight was fantastic and we loved seeing everyone’s performances. It would have been simple to just say, we’ll leave it for this year and do it next year, but tonight has been a lovely experience and a great example of you showing your resilience to the young people. Please pass on my thanks to all involved. Great presenting!

In October, during World Mental Health Week, the RAISE Team will be touring some of the pieces back into their schools. This tour will feature a theatre in education element, including discussions around the piece and the impact the pandemic has had on young people’s mental health. More information around this will be included in the new school year CAMHS newsletter.
