YPAS Plus Community Hub Official Launch

Liverpool’s south community-based mental health and emotional wellbeing hub officially opened on February 2, in Childwall. The hub was offically opened by Luciana Berger MP.

The YPAS Plus Community Hub will provide a range of services and links to health, education and social care supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of the community. The initiative is the latest addition to the Liverpool Child Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Partnership offer.

Special guest speakers at the launch included:

  • Luciana Berger MP, Labour and Cooperative MP for Liverpool Wavertree
  • Jane H Roberts PhD FRCGP, Clinical Lead Children & Young People’s Mental Health & Emotional Well-Being, Liverpool CCG
  • Kathryn Pugh MBE, Deputy Head of Mental Health,  Children and Young People’s Mental Health Programme Lead, Mental Health Clinical Policy and Strategy Group  NHS England

YPAS is responsible for hosting the South Community Hub entitled YPAS PLUS. The Hub will provide a broad range of innovative services delivered by the Liverpool CAMHS partnership, the offer also includes links to health, education and social care supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of children (5 – 15 years), young people (16-25 years) and families living within or surrounding the community.

 

Paula Smith, YPAS Hub Coordinator added: “The Childwall Hub, located on Lyndene Road, will be open daily; young people are welcome to drop in and engage in a range of psycho-social activities; use the internet, chat with professionals, meet young people, take part in relaxed sessions and explore their mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties in an individual comfortable space.

“Professionals from CAMHS providers will also be on site throughout the week offering specific advice on a range of subjects and there are specific Daily Drop In sessions for 16-25 year-olds.”
