YPAS Plus Community Hub Open Days Success

Children, young people and their families visited the Young Person’s Advisory Service (YPAS) Plus Community Hub’s open days last week.

The hubs, which will provide a range of services and links to health, education and social care supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of the community, are the latest addition to the Liverpool Child Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Partnership offer.

Monique Collier, Chief Executive at YPAS explained: “As a delivery partner of the Liverpool CAMHS partnership, YPAS is a leading Liverpool charity that receives over 3,000 referrals each year and works with over 200 families every year.”

“Responding to the needs of Liverpool families, as a partnership we need to be providing services at a faster rate, as and when the support is needed. Locating our services in the heart of the communities allows for easier access.”

Funded by NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group, this South Liverpool setting in Childwall is the first of two new hubs – the second in the north of the city is due to open later in 2017. Alongside the established city-centre location, these three hubs will bring voluntary and statutory agencies together for the benefit of children, young people and their families.

Some of the quotes from staff and pupils from visiting schools include:

“HUGE thank you to everyone at YPAS for letting us visit the centre on Monday. The children loved visiting and taking part in all the activities on offer. The staff were very friendly and so lovely they couldn’t have done enough for us.  I am looking forward to many more events with YPAS in the future and building our school/ YPAS relationship to support our pupils and families.” Claire Lydiat – Learning Mentor
