What’s the core focus of the conference?
The primary objective of the conference is to help schools and services better understand the local mental health offer, address key challenges, and share best practices. We will evaluate progress, highlight existing support thresholds and access points, and celebrate the collective efforts within Liverpool schools. A key aim is to encourage multi-agency collaboration to tackle systemic challenges impacting the mental health of pupils and staff.
Key Themes:
Throughout the day, we will delve into crucial areas, including:
- Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI): Addressing unique challenges, particularly for multicultural communities, and exploring culturally appropriate mental health support.
- Attendance and Behaviour: Focusing on emotional-based school avoidance (EBSA) and the role of multi-agency support in addressing behaviour issues linked to mental health.
- Needs of Parents and Carers: Understanding their rising role in mental health strategies and incorporating insights from parent forums.
- Transition: Discussing the importance of positive transitions for pupil wellbeing.
- Relevant Research: We are partnering with leading universities to deliver latest research findings around mental health and education.
- Staff Wellbeing: Dedicated discussions and feedback gathering on staff mental health support needs.
