Event overview

Alder Hey Fresh CAMHS will help you to take a fresh look at your skills and knowledge in understanding the effects of exposure to adverse childhood experiences (such as abuse and neglect) on children and young people. This half-day training will give you a framework for understanding the theoretical background to what is important and to critically reflect on your own professional practice through group exercises and discussion with colleagues. Case examples will be used to understand how children and young people’s trauma can play out in different ways. We will also offer some tips and strategies on how to begin to address these vulnerable children’s needs. The session will be interactive and will create a space to connect with other professionals. No prior knowledge of the area is expected.
