Gender Identity Awareness in Children and Young People

This is a 3.5 hour session (including break) created and delivered by professionals working with children and young people who identify as transgender, gender diverse or are questioning their gender identity.

This session aims to:

Introduce participants to key events in LGBTQ+ history to give some wider context to where we are today.

Introduce LGBTQ+ terminology- Language used when describing sexual orientation and gender identity.

Explore the difference between gender identity, gender expression, biological sex and sexual orientation.

Explore what social transition and medical transition are.

Explore how to apply to your workplace.

Explore Pathways to support locally and Nationally.

Explore Key Legislation.

Give time for any Questions, feedback and reflections.
