Who the course is for: this course is for those working with children and young people (in any capacity), and parents, carers, or those caring for children and young people.

About this course: Delivered by the MYA RAISE Team, and Mersey Care School Health Team, this Bitesize course gives an introduction to the impact of Nutritional intake on the wellbeing of children and young people. The training highlights the different types of food groups, the importance of staying hydrated and the impact of diet culture and how to challenge food rules. The session involves diving into the impact of low or high calorie intake, sugar intake, as well as exploring why regular eating is important.

Leaning outcomes:

  1. Understanding of the food groups and the importance of each of them,
  2. Knowledge of the impact of food intake and the importance of hydration,
  3. Insight diet culture and how to challenge food rules,
  4. Strategies to support a child or young person with their nutrition.

Time length: 1 hour 15 minutes

Delivery method: via Zoom. You will receive confirmation of this from the deliverer via email prior to the course date.
