Post Traumatic Growth (PTG)

Date/Time

08/09/2025 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This Bitesize training on Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) is an awareness session aimed at parents, carers and professionals. The training will explore the positive psychological change that some individuals experience after a traumatic event.  The course will explore some of the research behind this concept, demonstrating five possible areas an individual may grow in from appreciation about life to personal development after experiencing trauma or adversity:

  1. Changes in how they relate to other people
  2. Recognition of new opportunities, priorities or pathways in life
  3. Greater appreciation for the value of one’s own life, and life in general
  4. Recognition of one’s own strength
  5. Spiritual or existential development

Learning outcomes:

  • To understand that trauma and adversity doesn’t always have to have life-long negative impacts.
  • How to cope with trauma and adversity and challenge through resilience
  • How growth can manifest in various ways, including a greater appreciation for life, improved relationships, increased personal strength, and new possibilities

Time length: 1 hour
