Using Routine Outcome Measures to Support Wellbeing

Date/Time

25/09/2025 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Who the course is for: this course is for those working with children and young people (in any capacity), and parents, carers, or those caring for children and young people.

About this course: Delivered by the MYA RAISE Team, this Bitesize course gives an insight into what Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM) in child and adolescent mental health settings are and the benefits including providing a snapshot of the strengths and challenges children and young people are facing, which can be used to inform and direct support/care. Professionals can use the data with children and young people to better understand their needs and to direct their support; the data can show progress or lack of progress. They also help services to evaluate their interventions. When compared mindfully with other data/information, outcome data can show whether a project or intervention is achieving its intended aims or not. They also send a positive message to parents and carers that the service is focused on children and young people’s wellbeing.

The bitesize will also provide signposting to local and national services including CORC’s Directory of Outcome Measures

Learning outcomes:

  1. To understand what are Routine Outcome Measures are, who uses them and why?
  2. To explore choosing measures – RCADS/ SDQ/SRS
  3. To focus on using the data collected – When is it collected and where will it go? How is it shared? How is it interpreted?
