Safety Planning via Zoom
04/07/2022 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Young people may have thoughts of suicide – but thoughts about suicide does not make it inevitable. A safety plan helps prevent turning these thoughts into actions. A safety plan focuses on keeping a person safe right now, includes what they would do, and who might support them, in a crisis.
This half-day session on safety planning is aimed at anyone working with children and young people, especially those who may have suicidal ideation and might benefit from active use of a safety plan. There will be a focus on what they are and opportunities to compare various plans, exploring risk and risk factors. using shaming language, opportunities for self care and signposting for further support. This half-day course will be delivered via Zoom. You will receive confirmation of the Zoom call via email two days prior to the course start date**
