Monday – Friday 9.00 – 18.00

A message can be left on answering machine.
Do you have appointments outside working hours?
These can be arranged.

At project, school, home or other appropriate venues.
Do you take referrals directly from children/young people, parents/carers?
Parents/ carers – self-referrals – drop in or phone referrals welcome.

What kinds of things do you help with?
We promote equality, health and education, raising awareness of issues that affect Kinship families—using unique and innovative projects.
What do you offer?
We offer support and advice on relevant issues affecting Kinship carers. We hold pamper days on the first Friday of every month. Free massage and beauty therapies, tea, coffee, toast and fresh fruit available. We have regular coffee mornings, days out for Kinship carers in term time and family/ trips for young people during school holidays If children are having problems at school, we can support families by attending meetings and will work with the child in school, and on a 1-1 basis, helping improve their self-esteem and confidence. We also run a social, emotional and learning group called ’SEAL’ children can get involved in the group with other children with similar issues, the sessions are designed to help improve their emotional health and wellbeing and offer them strategies to be able to cope with whatever is worrying them about their situation.
What happens after a referral is made?
A member of staff will make contact, inform what our project can offer, and invite to project to complete assessment form.
What will happen at the first appointment?
Kinship Carers/ Families made welcome, more information given, interventions depend on need.
What will happen after that?
As we are a voluntary organisation, service users can engage, as and when needs arise.
What do you do if a client is not happy with the service?
Encourage to speak to a member of staff and inform of complaints procedure.
What skills do your staff have?
All staff have a wealth of knowledge regarding issues around Kinship Care, Good communication and listening skills.
Do you offer training in your specialist area?
Staff regularly attend training events both in-house and external. We have offered various training opportunities to Kinship Carers, including attachment, solution focused training, STEPS programme as well as having regular guest speakers on a variety of topics.
