Safety Planning
Date/Time
11/07/2023 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Young people may have thoughts of suicide – but thoughts about suicide do not make it inevitable. A safety plan helps prevent turning these thoughts into actions by focusing on keeping a person safe right now, including what they would do and who might support them in a crisis.
This half-day session on safety planning is aimed at anyone working with children and young people who have suicidal ideation and might benefit from the active use of a safety plan. There will be a focus on what they are and opportunities to compare various plans, exploring risk and risk factors. using shaming language, opportunities for self-care and signposting for further support. This half-day course will be delivered via Zoom. You will receive confirmation of the Zoom call via email two days prior to the course start date**
Please contact LucyO@mya.org.uk if you have any questions about this course.
